Preschool II has three full time teachers who currently enjoy 18 years of EBJ experience between them. They too use conversation to build relationships, supporting children’s right to negotiate, to work out differences, to argue, and to solve problems between and among their peers. The teachers “level the playing field” as they facilitate the discussions, validating each child’s feelings. Books, letters, writing! Music, listening, singing, dancing! Blocks! Drawing, painting, playdough! Texture tables, water and mud! Balance bikes, scooters, and trikes! Teachers move through a child-directed curriculum as they support individual styles of learning and plan for the children’s successful future kindergarten experiences.
